Understanding what it means to eat organic
Most produce including VietGAP and GobalGAP-certified will use chemicals, pesticides, and fertilizers to control disease, bugs and insects to make the produce beautiful and free of imperfection. If your produce is not treated correctly after chemical application (certain pesticides and fungicides will require a minimum of 7 days post spray before it’s safe to consume), then you could potentially ingest harmful and unnatural chemicals into your body.
Produce that is organic is grown naturally without the use of chemicals and pesticides. Because of this, organic produce tends to be more expensive as farmers will experience greater crop loss that would normally be controlled with chemicals.
One sure indication that your produce is organic is seeing signs of insects eating the leaves. When eating organic, you’re eating clean safe food and contributing to improving and nurturing the biodiversity of our planet.
